Sahwa, a non-profit Islamic app from Qatar, brings the Quran, prayer times and a family khatma together with no ads and no account

Doha, [DATE] — Sahwa, a non-profit Islamic app, is now available on Google Play and the App Store in Arabic, English and Urdu. It brings together the Quran in the Madinah Mushaf script, prayer times for any city, azkar from Hisn al-Muslim, hadith with their sources, and a group khatma, calmly and with no ads, no account and no paid features.
It arrives when the best-known Islamic apps depend on advertising, subscriptions and the sale of user data. Sahwa asks for no name and no email, shows no advertising, sells nobody's data, and says so plainly on its store page.
"We wanted an app that a person opens to read the Quran or check the prayer time and finds nothing in the way: no ad, no sign-up screen," said [FOUNDER NAME], founder of Sahwa. "Sahwa is a non-profit project. Its purpose is to be useful to Muslims, in Qatar first and then everywhere."
A khatma across borders. Sahwa's most distinctive feature is a group khatma: one person creates it and sends a link to their family, each member reads their portion from their own city, whether Doha, Cairo, London or Karachi, and everyone follows the progress until the Quran is complete.
Accurate, recognised prayer times. The app uses the official timetable of Qatar's Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, applies the UAE's official times automatically, and offers nine recognised calculation methods elsewhere, including Umm al-Qura and Karachi. The Adhan plays in voices recorded in Makkah, Madinah and Qatar, with a lock-screen prayer card, widgets and a prayer tracker.

يأتي التطبيق في وقت تعتمد فيه أشهر التطبيقات الإسلامية على الإعلانات والاشتراكات وبيع بيانات المستخدمين. أما صحوة فلا يطلب من مستخدمه اسمًا ولا بريدًا، ولا يعرض إعلانًا، ولا يبيع بيانات أحد، ويقول ذلك بوضوح على صفحته في المتجر.

الختمة الجماعية عبر الحدود. أبرز ما يميز صحوة ختمة جماعية ينشئها شخص واحد ويرسل رابطها لأهله، فيقرأ كل فرد نصيبه من مدينته، سواء كان في الدوحة أو القاهرة أو لندن أو كراتشي، ويتابع الجميع تقدم الختمة حتى تكتمل. ويرى كل عضو مواقيت الصلاة في مدينته هو.
مواقيت دقيقة ومعتمدة. يعتمد التطبيق جداول وزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية الرسمية في قطر، والجداول الرسمية في الإمارات تلقائيًا، وتسع طرق حساب معتمدة لبقية مدن العالم، منها أم القرى والهيئة المصرية وكراتشي. ويُرفع الأذان بأصوات مسجلة من مكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة وقطر، مع بطاقة للصلاة على شاشة القفل وأدوات على الشاشة الرئيسية ومتابعة للصلوات.
